My girlfriend’s a busy and poor college student. But she needed a new computer to replace her elderly iBook, so we waited until the new iMacs came out on August 7th … and she pushed the ‘order’ button on a new black/silver iMac the day they were released. She added the Nano, which was free after rebate to students. The rebate, mind you, requires UPCs from both boxes.
Unfortunately, the computer didn’t *ship* until September 14th. And we didn’t get it until the 22nd. And when she tried to call in to Apple’s customer support to do the rebate, they said that she was inelgiable because the claim (which required both UPCs) wasn’t filed within 30 days of purchase. The computer wasn’t even BUILT 30 days after purchase, so how could she have the UPC for the rebate?
Nice, Apple. Thanks so much for spoiling all that warm fuzzy customer care feeling I got along with that new MacBook back in July.
