Dell 1650 on-board aacraid and partitions > 1tb
After a weekend of trying everything from cable problems to firmware problems, it turns out that no matter what, the on-board raid controller in a Dell Power Edge 1650 cannot initialize as a container a drive over 1 TB in size.
And suddenly, it makes sense why my otherwise non-paranoid predecessor had a 2TB array in RAID6+2 hot spare mode, reducing it’s usable storage to 1TB.
Oh well. Another weekend down the drain…
