Continuing the thread of my earlier article on twitter’s architecture mistakes, Big Contrarian (new favorite weblog) made a post a few days ago that caught the SQL optimization report that Twitter leaked via it’s staging site, and then rapidly pulled down.

Ok, Biz Stone, you twit, you failed at computer science. You can’t solve computer science problems by being cool… it just doesn’t work that way. I’m sorry, I know it’s not fair. Just give up and hire an engineer who doesn’t spend all day being cool, and you might get your problems fixed, OK? P.S. — a migration away from RoR might also help.
